Chinese

May 5th, 2009

I usually move around a lot from country to country because of my dad’s job being a professor and that he always moves around from university to university trying to find a new place after his contract ends. Becuase of this, I too move around a lot and i think that has effected my life a lot. I had a chance to learn about different cultures around the world and learn to speak different languages (even thought I forgot one).

When moved to Taiwan, I first thought why can’t I just stay in one place? I was sick of moving around all the time. I moved to Taipei and attended a international school there before moving to Hsinchu. I like Taiwan but I think that the hardest thing about living here is not being able to speak chinese to the people. It’s really hard when you go to some place and you don’t know what the people say and stuff. I went to a chinese learning summer camp last summer but I basically forgot everything I learnt over the first semester I was in HAS. My parents weren’t very happy about that and they got a tutor for chinese about 2 months ago ad have beem learning chinese since then.
