Quick Hits: Improvements at HAS

According Mrs. Murphy, also known as Ms. Sonia, who is in charge of student recruiting at HsinChu American School, HsinChu American School is going to have eighteen students next year. This year we had sixteen in which half of sixteen is leaving to go to school else where such as the US, Austrilia, and Canada. It is only June, and most parents in Taiwan enroll their children at the peak of the beginning of the school year. Mr. Murphy, the new HAS principal, had hired five new staff members for the 2009 - 2010 school year. HAS will be opening fifth grade next year.

All the students at HAS went on an end of the school year field trip to Jian Hu Amusement Park (劍湖山).  During the two days, HAS hired two Filipino maids to help clean up the school. Grace, Stanley, and Wilson’s mom also contributed.  They worked from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM CST. With the Filipino maids, parents and HAS staff members (Ms. Sonia and Ms. Eileen) the school became an actual school instead of a pig pen.  All the classrooms have desks and chairs and instead of having art in B1, we are going to move the art room up to the fourth floor. When parents come to the school for open house, our office is more welcoming now as well!

10 Good Questions

We were assigned a quick and easy project on June 2, 2009 to interview a person and ask them 10 questions.  We are given the option to ask the question anyway we want such as through phone or e-mail. We should ask a few questions to follow-up our previous question. I will come up with who I would want to interview ASAP. I have an idea on who I want to e-mail, but it he/she does not live in Taiwan. Stay tune!
